We have highly skilled spinal surgeons and neurosurgeons on our medical staff. And we perform more than 4,000 spinal procedures per year, much more than those performed at other facilities.
In addition, as part of the Saint Thomas Joint Replacement Institute, we perform more than twice as many joint-related procedures than other hospitals in the area. That amounts to an enormous amount of experience. Simply put, the more you perform a procedure, the better you are.
What's more, we believe in providing the highest standards of care and highest levels of safety for our patients. That's why, intraoperative neuromonitoring, for instance, has been a standard part of our surgical procedures for years. This technology detects potential risk to the nervous system by giving immediate feedback to our surgeons during procedures and allows for avoidance of neural damage.
